Swarovski Crystal World

Woke to a bright, clear morning and decided to head out to see Swarovski Crystal World, near Innsbruck. Spent a couple of hours recharging everything at their free charging station (woo hoo!) and reading the paper thanks to their free internet (extra woo hoo!) and then another couple exploring the place. Two words: shiny + pretty. J

The "giant".

As if these flowers weren't pretty enough, they, and the leaves in the arrangement, were also adorned with crystals. And the floor (which you can just see at the lower left of the photo) was green crystal dust.

Detail of a crystal-studded bustier. Besides thinking it was gorgeous, I kept finding myself thinking how very uncomfortable such an item would be to wear!

Cinderella's glass slipper - designed and created for the movie of the same name in 2015.

There was a huge store on the site, filled with all manner of sparkly things. Some I thought were fiendishly ugly and ridiculously expensive to boot (I found one small sculpture with a price tag of almost 12,000 Euro) but there were many things which I thought were very beautiful - it was quite the challenge to extricate myself from the premises without buying a few more pieces of statement jewellery!
