Mexico 2007

In 2007 I spent a couple of months working at the Mision Mexico children's refuge in Tapachula, a town so far to the south of Mexico that it was only a matter of a few kilometres to the Guatemalan border.

While working at the refuge this little girl became one of my particularly cherished babies. At the time I knew her she was aged 9, but she had been found, all alone, rummaging through a pile of rubbish for food at the age of (they estimated) 3. She had been living at the refuge ever since.
